Toys for Tots Fundraising Drive

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), in partnership with the Salvation Army, Canadian Tire and a number of other community partners, recently launched the Toys for Tots holiday fundraising drive. Toys for Tots spreads holiday joy by providing gifts to less fortunate families living in Halton Region. Each year, off-duty uniform and civilian employees of the HRPS, local businesses, schools and sports organizations give their time, talents and resources in support of the initiative’s continued success. Residents are invited to make their donations of a new unwrapped toys, Canadian Tire money and/or cash at any Canadian Tire location or police station in Halton Region until Saturday, December 19.

The Salvation Army then identifies local families experiencing difficulty and distributes toys purchased and/or collected from each location directly to them. For more information, contact the Toys for Tots hotline at 905-825-4747 ext. 4TOT (4868) or email ToysforTots@haltonpolice.ca.

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.

What's your take?
