730 & 760 Brant St. – Sept. 22 notes and presentations

Over 60 residents attended a second public meeting on Sept. 22 to view revised plans for the redevelopment of 730 & 760 Brant St. by Cherishome Living. The PowerPoint presentation and notes from the meeting are below.

The revised site plan application was submitted to the City’s Planning & Building Department in June 2015 and Cherishome has been working with city staff to address questions and concerns. The application is similar to what residents were presented with at the April 15th public meeting:  a 4-storey building with 146 residential units and 7 commercial units along Brant Street. One significant change is the driveway location has moved to Brant Street, whereas the preliminary drawings showed the driveway on Hyde Road.

The plan includes some minor variances to the City’s zoning regulations and Cherishome has applied to the Committee of Adjustment to seek approval of those variances. An Oct 2015 hearing date was postponed to allow for city staff and the applicant to work through parking and transportation matters. A new hearing date is planned for early next year. Residents within 60m of 730 & 760 Brant St. will receive a letter in the mail advising of the application and how you can get involved. A list of the variances is below.
