Habitat for Humanity has applied for an Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw Amendment to permit 20 townhomes, 3 storeys each, in two blocks of 10 units. The current Official Plan and Zoning on the property is neighbourhood commercial, which permits retail and service commercial uses and community facilities. Residential uses may be permitted in the second and third story of retail commercial buildings. The Official Plan and Zoning need to be amended to permit townhouses.

You can provide your input into the proposal at a statutory public meeting, which is part of a regularly scheduled Development & Infrastructure Committee meeting of City Council:

Date: March 22, 6:30 pm, Room 247, City Hall, 426 Brant Street

More information is available in the staff report, included in the Agendas and Minutes for the D&I meeting March 22: Agendas & Minutes

As this is a public meeting, you do not need to register in advance to speak. Those who do register will be heard first. Register as a Delegation

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.
