Variances proposed for Bridgewater lakefront project

Bridgewater renderingOver 25 residents attended a neighbourhood meeting on April 20 and heard about minor variances proposed for the Bridgewater project. The project was approved in 2006 and is located on the south side of Lakeshore Road, between Elizabeth and Pearl Streets. It includes a 22-storey condominium, 7-storey condominium and an 8-storey hotel.

Marriott International is the new hotel operator for the project, after acquiring Delta Hotels and Resorts. Marriott’s brand standards require some changes to the hotel portion of the project, namely room sizes, event and hospitality space and visitor amenities.

The proposed changes do not relate to parking. One change involves adding some office space on the roof, blended in with the mechanical room that is already up there (so no increase in overall height).

The proposed changes will go to the Committee of Adjustment for a decision. No date has yet been set, but it will be posted here when scheduled. Agendas are available a week in advance. Residents can attend the meeting and provide feedback. Anyone who signed in at the public meeting, or who lives within 60m of the property, will be notified once the date has been set.

Further details about the requested variances and a copy of the PowerPoint presentation can be viewed below.
