Makers Market coming July 18 to Centro
Join us in celebrating the spirit of making things, lives, ideas, by hand. Join us for a makers market in Burlington Downtown on July 18th from 4 to 10pm. Join us in spreading the idea that making by hand, the artisan, is a vibrant and growing community. Join us in presenting the relevance and value of the hand made product to the broader audience. And join us in showing others that this idea is accessible to young people as a way to carry on tradition, renew lost arts and forge new concepts within honest materials.
Insite Design together with Centro Garden are hosting a Makers Market : http://www.mkrsmrkt.ca/ on July 18th in Centro parking lot on John St. The concept of this retail exposé is to reveal the hidden economy of world class creative “maker” entrepreneurs within our city and the surrounding area.
Says Barry from Insite:
We’re doing this for 3 main reasons:
- to provide exposure and access to audiences for these people in order to stimulate their businesses
- to position Burlington Downtown as the supportive centre for this culture and
- to demonstrate to others; young and old that this maker “do-it-at-home” option is a viable career and business opportunity for those who live in Burlington and the area
