Drain your pool water safely

backyard poolAs you get ready to close your pool for the summer, keep in mind that there is a right place and a wrong place to drain your pool water.

A recent Take Action Burlington article clearly explains the do’s and don’ts here:

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.

  1. Don’t know if you will reach the people that matter. I have already seen pool discharge out on the street presumably on its way to the storm sewer. Are pool service companies aware of these suggestions? For do it yourself home owners, maybe a flyer to the door in the areas with the most pools.
