Want to help break a Guinness World Record? Join the “J” Oct. 2 with Joseph Brant Hospital

Join the JMark your calendars and bring your friends and neighbours out on Sunday, October 2 as the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the largest human letter! Help us form the world’s largest “J” in Spencer Smith Park.

The record is currently held by Dell Technologies, who formed an E consisting of 2,166 people in Round Rock, Texas June 22. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of a Guinness World Record!

This free event will have food trucks, live music, and more! For more information and to register to be a part of history, please visit www.jbhfoundation.ca

Plan to arrive at Spencer Smith Park at 12 noon for on-site registration. Official Guinness World Book of Records judge will be on hand to validate the record. Residents will be handed orange cardboard to hold up as an aerial photograph captures the moment.

Our New Era: The event marks the launch of the JBHF’s public phase of its $60 million Our New Era Campaign  in support of the Hospital redevelopment and expansion. Thanks to the incredible support from donors, the Foundation is entering the final stages of the campaign this fall having raised more than 80% of the goal.

The October event is not a fundraiser: the purpose  is to show how great things can be achieved when we come together as a community!

Construction update: Work is continuing on the construction of the new seven-storey patient tower. The windows have been installed, and power within the building should be turned on by September. The pedestrian bridge that will connect the parking facility to level 1 of the new tower is in place, and nearing completion.

The countdown to the tower opening is starting; the official opening is scheduled for September 2017. Once the new patient tower opens, renovations will begin to the existing hospital, which will be complete in 2018/2019.
