One Burlington Festival Aug. 19, Central Park Bandshell

Celebrating unity as community

Plan to attend the free One Burlington Festival Aug. 19, 12-4pm in Central Park Bandshell, 2331 New Street, celebrating Unity as Community.

It’s a new event to our community, organized by a coalition of multi-faith religious groups, community organizations and others. There will be food, exhibits, children’s activities, and cultural programs and performances. The purpose of the event is to foster compassion, kindness, mutual respect, and growing as friends in our community of Burlington.

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.
