Save the Date! Free “Chat ‘n Chew” Community BBQ Fri. June 9, Lion’s Club Park

Learn more about the “Join the J” community challenge

Who doesn’t love free food, activities and exhibits, to kick off the weekend! Learn about what is happening in our community, meet and mingle with your neighbours, pick up a piece of wood or sapling from the willows from Spencer Smith Park, and learn about Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation’s Join the J Community Challenge.

I am sponsoring a community-led Chat ‘n Chew in Ward 2:

Date: Friday, June 9

Time: 5pm-8:30pm

Place: Lion’s Club Park & Community Hall (rain/heat backup), 471 Pearl St

Free food will be provided to the first 400 people, thanks to our downtown restaurants The Coop, Coffee Culture, MollyCake, and Bodhi Bar. Vegetarian options available.

Seating is limited so bring a blanket or chair.

Volunteer: Want to volunteer as part of the planning team? We could use your help. If you are a student, you can earn community service hours!

Display Table: Are you a community group, member of one of the city’s citizen advisory groups, or other organization and want a free table to spread the word about what you do? Contact us below.

For more information or to find out how you can be involved, email Georgie.Gartside@Burlington.ca or call 905-335-7600, ext. 7368.

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.

What's your take?
