Access to Your Property

During normal construction hours – Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – vehicle access to and from your property may be affected. Driveways will be temporarily closed when work is being done in the area. Either the inspector or the contractor will let you know of any interruptions before a closure.

During construction and when your driveway is inaccessible or closed, please park on neighbouring streets where there is no construction. Register your vehicle for the On-Street Parking Exemption Program at: www.burlington.ca/exemption or 905-335-7844 – 24-hour voice message. The exemption will allow you to park your vehicle(s) on the street beyond the 5-hour limit and overnight between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. All other parking offences apply that are not part of the parking exemption program.

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.

  1. Question for you. Should I wait to request exemption once I am notified of dates by contractor that our street is actually effected by the work.

    • Usually the city offers blanket exemptions (no enforcement) when road work prevents access to driveways. You can also directly contact once road work starts to ensure exemption.

  2. Why is New Street’s capacity to move cars being lowered? Why don’t u give tax breaks to people who car pool instead, greedy gov’ts never do anything right, they simply pretend they are taking progressive actions, installing bumps everywhere, what does that achieve???…after you kill the planet, u will be stuck here forever, the penalty for killing a planet is permanent, lifetime sentence, cause reincarnation exists. When you end up on a dead planet Marrianne, you won’t be able to say, you did not receive a warning from mother earth, father light and our future children! You are a lost soul, don’t be fooled by the fact that so many around you are the same, misery loves company, haha.

What's your take?
