Transit users forum April 1, Central Library

For the third year, Burlington for Accessible, Sustainable Transit (BFAST) is hosting a transit users forum:

Date: Saturday, April 1

Time: 10am-12:30pm (doors open 9:30 for continental breakfast)

Place: Central Library, 2331 New Street

This year’s forum will feature a presentation by Burlington Transit’s Acting Director Jeff Black. Using interactive technology, attendees will be able to participate in a survey that will be used to assist in the City-mandated transit study that is currently underway.

For the second year, BFAST will be issuing a report card on how transit in Burlington serves its users and the needs of our city.

Last year, nearly 100 transit users attended, including seniors, commuters, youth, the disabled and other Burlingtonians. This year, additional invited guests include representatives from Burlington’s business community, our provincial MPPs and federal MPs. Sponsors include nine community organizations and the Burlington Gazette.

Additional information is included in the attached flyer: 2017-transit-forum-poster-cmyk.

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.

What's your take?
