Financial Assistance Programs: Winter Warmth Program & LEAP

Winter Warmth: Need help with your heating bill? If you’ve recently had difficulty paying or are concerned about making your next payment, Winter Warmth may be able to help. Winter Warmth is designed for low-income families and individuals living at or below the poverty line who have exhausted all other sources of financial support. Approved households may receive one grant (up to $500 maximum) per calendar year. For details, refer to Winter Warmth Program.

Low-Income Energy Assistance Program – LEAP: Together with Halton Region, Burlington Hydro is supporting LEAP, a year-round emergency financial assistance program designed to help low-income customers who have difficulty making electricity bill payments. LEAP is modeled after the “Winter Warmth” program, previously offered by Burlington Hydro. Hydro is now partnering with Halton Region’s Social and Community Services to connect individuals and families in crisis to the Region’s full range of assistance programs.
