Free parking coming Dec. 1; please park in your usual lot, leave closest spaces for visitors

FreeP! is back, for the whole month of December, starting Mon. Dec. 1. There’s no charge to park in municipal lots, or on street. Note that the maximum on-street parking is 3 hours; there’s no time limit in the lots or the parking garage on Locust St.

FreeP! is aimed at making our business community even more competitive during the holiday shopping and dining season.

If you work downtown, and have an assigned parking lot, please continue to park there, and leave the on-street and closest lots for visitor parking.

In order to ensure that the premium parking lots are not filled by people who work downtown (but have permit parking in lots further away), the lots at Elizabeth & Pine, and on Brant Street, will be closed and patrolled by uniformed officers prior to 9am. Only permit holders will be allowed in before 9. Additionally, on-street parking is designed for quick turnover. To ensure that people who work downtown don’t take these spots for the day, the three hour limit will be strictly enforced.

Please note that free parking excludes the Art Gallery of Burlington lot, the Discovery Landing lot at Spencer Smith Park, and private lots in the downtown.
