Vote before Nov. 30 to help AGB win $25k grant for art mentoring program.

The Art Gallery of Burlington mentoring program is one of five finalists for the Hamilton Spectator’s Change Challenge Grant of $25,000. You can vote online up to five times per day until Nov. 30 to help AGB win the grant.

About the program:

The AGB is launching a mentoring program for high school students with an interest in an art-related career. The grant will allow students to enroll in the program at no cost, reaching kids who would not otherwise be able to afford it. In a 12-week session, students will learn to develop a portfolio and participate in the curation and installation of an exhibition while being mentored by the gallery’s chief curator and other artists.

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.
