My Take:

This is great news for our community. The expanded and improved facilities will improve the health and wellbeing of residents for decades to come. The community truly came together to make this happen, with the foundation closing in on raising $60 million from hundreds of donors, and the city matching that contribution with a special levy raising $60 million. Congratulations to donors, hospital staff, volunteers, the hospital board of directors (on which I served for seven years) and the hospital foundation board of directors, past and present, who all helped to make this happen.

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.

  1. Our B-town community was needing a new hospital. I am impressed knowing the newer hospital is able to keep any outbreaks & illnesses under control. It’s been built for the present & future.

Most importantly, it’s the health care providers on the front line that will make all the difference in the world. New or old our health care providers deserve credit. Especially, when having to be creative in an older hospital. Embrace, our health care providers we need them in our hospitals.
