Flood information: today at Children’s Festival & Fit in the Core and Centro Garden
Join me today at the Children’s Festival and Saturdays in the Street to get more information about the Burlington flood, the devastation some of our friends and neighbours are facing and how you can help.
At a special council meeting on Thursday, we heard first-hand stories of how our fellow residents are affected: contaminated basements, structural damage, destroyed heating and water systems. Some people have had to move out. The flood has damaged one of the most basic needs for these folks – shelter.
If this isn’t a disaster, then nothing is.
I’ll be on hand to answer your questions today and tomorrow at the following events:
Saturday:
11-2 Children’s Festival, Beachway Park, city tent (festival runs 10-6)
3-5:30 Saturdays in the Street, Elgin & Brant street, Burlington Downtown Business Association tent. (CANCELLED due to inclement weather)
Sunday:
12-2 Children’s Festival, Spencer Smith Park, city tent (festival runs 10-6)
10-11 Fit in the Core, Civic Square, Burlington Downtown Business Association tent
