Traffic calming reviews planned for Deyncourt, George, Delaware
A majority of residents living on Deyncourt, George, and Delaware support traffic calming measures on their streets.
In 2013, residents on these streets were asked to complete a survey. A minimum of 50% of residents who live on the area must support traffic calming measures for staff to undertake further studies.
The poll results by street are:
Deyncourt Dr.: 62% support
Delaware Ave: 56% support
George St: 51% support
As a result of meeting the resident poll requirement, staff will now undertake further study of each street in the Spring to determine if they meet technical warrant criteria for traffic calming (for example, minimum threshholds of speed or volume).
If the streets meet the technical warrant criteria, staff will meet with the public again to discuss potential traffic calming measures.
Residents will be notified by mail each step of the process, and invited to participate. I will also continue to provide updates in the newsletter and online.
