The Canadian Federation of University Women – Burlington chapter is part of a national organization of 10,000 women that is committed to pursuing knowledge, promoting education, improving the status of women and girls and actively participating in public concerns.

Annually the club presents scholarships to young women graduating from high school and continuing in post secondary education.

The club meets the fourth Wednesday of the month from September to May at the Art Gallery of Burlington. Meetings have a program component and a business portion and include social time. Members are interested in topics which provide information and enrichment. The programmes focus on community issues, political concerns, the arts, and education. The group also meets to form lasting friendships among members.

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.
