OMB hearing on Martha/Lakeshore 26-storey development postponed

Participant statements March 6

The Ontario Municipal Board hearing on the proposed 26-storey building at the foot of Martha and Lakeshore has been postponed due to illness. The board will reconvene Monday March 6, 10am at City Hall, Rm 247, to hear statements from citizen participants (residents and community groups). The balance of the hearing will be rescheduled to a later date.

The original hearing was scheduled for two weeks; one-week of testimony has already been heard.

I was inspired to seek public office because I believe, like so many of you, “I can do something about that” on the issues we face. As councilor, my role is to take a stand on what’s best for residents and go to bat for it. Pushback is inevitable from those who don’t have the community’s interests at heart. I will stand with you and for you, to achieve the best interests of our city, without caving to unacceptable compromise in the name of consensus.
