Special City Council meeting March 15 for a legal update on 374 Martha St
Burlington, Ont. – March 11, 2016— The City of Burlington has scheduled a special City Council meeting for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15 for a legal update regarding a property at 374 Martha St.
An application related to the property is the subject of an Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) hearing involving the city. The OMB hearing on this matter begins on Monday, March 14 at 10 a.m. at City Hall, Room 247, and is open to the public.

The purpose of this meeting is for the discussion of a Confidential legal department update and will be closed to the public in accordance with Sec. 239 2(e) (f) of the Municipal Act, 2001

Marianne, I take it this meeting will be camera since it is legal, and if so, why is this not in the notice of meeting?
Whatever, will there be a public information component?

The agenda for the meeting itself will record that the item is confidential. I don’t know why that wasn’t stated in the press release. At this point in time, I do not know whether there will be a public component to the meeting. I expect at some point after the meeting, if not immediately when we come out of camera then shortly thereafter, there will be some information provided to the public.
