Burlington, Ont. – March 17, 2016—The Ontario Municipal Board hearing regarding the application for a 26-storey condominium proposed to be developed at 374 Martha St. has been adjourned until Feb. 21, 2017 at 10 a.m.

The date for the adjournment was set at an OMB hearing held on March 16 at 10 a.m. A revised application for the proposed development at 374 Martha St. will be submitted to the City of Burlington and is expected to go before Council in the fall of 2016.

Background

In 2014, Adi Developments submitted an application to the City of Burlington for a 28-storey condominium to be developed on a .136 hectare parcel of land at 374 Martha St. Adi Developments launched the OMB appeal in March 2015. In February 2016, the developer amended its application to 26 storeys.

At the OMB hearing on March 14, the developer told the OMB it has bought the property at 380 Martha St., and will include that property in its condominium development application. The city’s legal team asked for an opportunity to receive instruction from Burlington City Council.

On March 15, the City of Burlington informed the Chair of the OMB that the city would not oppose the developer’s request for an adjournment.

On Wednesday, March 16 at 10 a.m., the OMB hearing resumed to formally accept the adjournment and establish a timeline for the process related to the appeals before the board.
