Road closures for Robbie Burns race Jan. 24
On Sun. Jan. 24, the Burlington Runners are hosting the 37th annual Robbie Burns 8km road race. The race is in support of “Jumpstart”, the Canadian Tire charity aimed at providing all children a chance to play.
The race starts at 9:30am and will be finished by 11am. About 900 people are expected to participate. Central High School will be used for pre and post race activities.
This is a one-lap race, and roads will be reopened in a clockwise direction as the last runners pass.
Road closures:
- Baldwin St will be closed 7-11am, west of Hurd and 9:15-9:45 from Hurd to Brant St. Residents in this are are asked to contact and event marshall to be escorted in and out of driveways. Contact information is below.

Locust St will be restricted to one way traffic southbound from 9:30-11am. The street will be coned off exclusively for runners in the northbound lane.

Brant St. Fairview St Guelph LIne and Lakeshore Rd sections of the event route will be open for two way traffic during the event. The right hand curb lane will be coned off for the exclusive use of runners.

Emergency services will be maintained at all times along the event route.
Race Route:
From Cental High School East on Baldwin to Brant; North on Brant to Fairview; East on Fairview to Guelph Line; South on Guelph Line to Lakeshore Road; West on Lakeshore Road to Locust St.; North on Locust to Central High School on Baldwin.
