Arts/Culture Council fundraiser with Tomson Highway Nov. 4

The Arts and Culture Council of Burlington, ACCOB, is holding its first fundraiser Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Studio Theatre of the Burlington Performing Arts Centre.
The evening will feature renowned playwright, novelist and musician, Tomson Highway, the first Indigenous person to be awarded an Order of Canada for his work in the arts. Mr. Highway will be speaking about the importance of arts and culture in a community and will also be performing on BPAC’s Shigeru Kawai piano. His recent book, From Oral to Written: A Celebration of Indigenous Literature, 1980 to 2010, will be available for signing after the presentation.
This fundraiser is made possible with the help of the Burlington Public Library’s One Book One Burlington programme and  the support of the City of Burlington.
The Arts and Culture Council of Burlington, ACCOB, is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting and fostering artistic and cultural development in Burlington for the benefit of all residents. All proceeds of this event will go to fund projects of the Arts and Culture Council of Burlington.
Tickets are $35 and available from the BPAC box office.
