Community heroes: Steve Gaul breaks record to fight cancer

Burlington's Steve Gaul

Steve’s feat drew our entire community together and inspired us all

Burlington resident Steve Gaul broke the Guinness World Record for drumming this summer, after five days and 121 hours pounding out tunes at the Central Music Centre surrounded by cheering family and friends. The effort raised money for cancer in memory of his sister Toni Clement, who died of cancer last year. Gaul himself is a cancer survivor. The feat drew our entire community together and inspired us all, with many residents (including my daughter) camping out with members of the Burlington Teen Tour Band to spur him on. We are proud of you Steve, and the difference you’ve made in the lives of others facing cancer.
